Private visits from 15 April to 15 November
For associations, groups and company outings, for a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 40 people, so that guests can personally meet the Owners, who host and guide the visit.
The visit route
To be fully enjoyed, a visit to the feudal complex takes at least 2 or 3 hours. It begins with the courtyard of the Palazzo: a typical closed courtyard with the well in the centre, flanked by mulberry trees, and over the side door of the church the fresco of the Annunciation (1460), the fourteenth-century sundial, the family carriages and the Old Kitchen. It continues with the visit to the Park, exceptional in May when the rhododendrons and azaleas bloom and in summer with the hydrangeas, renowned for its botanical collections of acid-loving shrubs (camellias, azaleas, rhododendrons, hydrangeas, hostas) and other species such as ferns and bamboos. Guests can admire the frescoes of the Palazzo: on the south façade the Madonna by Jacopino Longo (1470), the men-at-arms and the fifteenth-century friezes; and the Chapel of San Sebastiano, with the cycle of the Passion of Christ attributed to master Giovanni Canavesio.
A small gate leads out of the park for the walk to the Castle: the path climbs through woods and vineyards, revealing glimpses of the landscape. About 20 minutes on a gently rising dirt road, or along one of the marked trails. Then you enter the walls of the Castle: an imposing stone military structure with towers, loopholes and buttresses, sentry walks and 13th-14th century fresco decorations.
Private visits can be booked in several formats:
GUIDED TOUR of the whole complex by the hosts, walk to the castle, with the option of stopping for a picnic in the castle halls.
GUIDED TOUR and LUNCH AT THE CASTLE: guided tour of the whole complex by the hosts, walk to the castle and, in the castle halls or the fortified courtyard, a lunch prepared to your requirements.
